I  will only be doing a write-up for the top ten for the rest of the season:

  1. New England Patriots – The rookie defenders paid off early for the Patriots against the Titans. Chandler Jones and Dont’a Hightower teamed up on the play of the game for a defensive score, and second rounder Tavon Wilson had a pick in the endzone. The Patriots even had a great day on the ground with Stevan Ridley having 125 rushing yards. I didn’t even mention Tom Brady; yeah the Patriots are the best in the NFL.
  2. San Francisco 49ers – The Niners staked their claim to the NFC with a great performance against the Packers in Green Bay. Randy Moss even got in on the fun on Sunday. They are the team to beat in the NFC.
  3. Houston Texans – Houston had what really amounted to a bye against Miami, but they still deserve the third spot in the rankings after a 30-10 victory.
  4. Green Bay Packers – A bad start against San Francisco doesn’t mean the Packers aren’t one of the best teams in the league, they are.
  5. Baltimore Ravens – Baltimore’s offense did impress me against Cincy, but not enough to move them up from 5.
  6. Denver Broncos – Peyton is still Peyton. And that defense is still pretty good all-around. Broncos fans have reason to be excited for this season.
  7. Chicago Bears – The Cutler-Marshall connection looked pretty good on Sunday, but I want to see what they do against better competition before moving them up in the rankings.
  8. Philadelphia Eagles – A part of me believes that Philly might have underestimated the Browns defense this week. I think they are better than what they showed on the field.
  9. Dallas Cowboys – The best part about the Cowboys win in week one was that Tony Romo didn’t blow it in the fourth quarter.
  10. Atlanta Falcons – Matt Ryan had a very, very good game against a KC defense that I have a lot of respect for. This may be the Falcons year in the NFC South.
